Wow. Seriously. Wow.

I'm afraid my comment is mostly going to be incoherent because there is just. so. much. here. and I just can't even. The world building in this is absolutely amazing. I am in awe of you, anon. The powers of the dragon-born are incredibly interesting but (and I don't know what this says about me) Yukimura killed me. I wanted to cry. (But I was at work, so I couldn't.)

Shitenhouji = perfection.

Yanagi = perfection. My gods, Yanagi was absolutely wonderful. (Yanagi thinking that Tezuka was a blowhard... I about died laughing at that. Thank you.)

Echizen = bratty and petulant and lazy. Ah, it was great. (Hoarding disgusting wine, I mean, Ponta. That was genius.)

There's just so much and I'm still trying to take it all in, but I could hug you. (Internet hug you, at least.) This is fantastic.

I snickered a lot writing this, especially during Shitenhouji and some of Yanagi's snider moments. Tezuka makes the puns too easy.

Holy shit.

I think it would take me around at least half an hour to go back and pick all those absolutely perfect phrases that got me like rolling on my bed and swearing in my native language, but I'm already around 3hrs behind work because this kinda put a stop to RL to be read and I can't really aford it. Plus, as much as I'd love to spazz in this review, I'm pretty sure Niru will peak to read the comments and I don't want to spoil her. She's currently buried in work and I spent the last two hours teasing her with this, lol.

What I cansay it's that you did fucking great, dear author. I can't fanthom a more perfectly-awesomely tailored story for her. I don't know you managed to include all her likes even the lenght holy fuck, and make it work so nicely and naturaly and just... wow. She's gonna adoreit and probably die a little :')

I've already told you that I liked this story (Which is a huge accomplishment given my disinterest in Yanagi).

I loved Jirou and how horrible of a guard he is, especially with Marui around. And Niou was great and a trickster and had way too much fun trolling Atobe (as both himself and Yanagi and Yanagi as Niou, too. Even a false Niou has fun teasing people)

Tezuka was great. But I'm biased.

And I love the whole world and the politics and everything.

He is not a horrible guard -- only the truest of warriors have cupcakes in their armor! I had too much fun writing Niou, and maybe way too much fun trolling Atobe. But he makes it so easy (and is so wonderful when flustered).

You might even say that he's the wind in your sails...

Alright. Alright. So, I FINALLY got a chance to read the whole way through this, and a more coherent,. line by line comment will also be coming later, because this is the sort of fic that deserves this, but thank you <3 Thank you so much, this is probably one of the best gifts I've ever received by exchanges, so thank you <3 You hit on every single one of my fave things.

God I think everyone's touched on the way that Yanagi is portrayed here and everything, But I was absolutely enamoured and elated by the way that the girls were here. Sakuno, clumsy and nervous, and still not very great at speaking with people, but opening up connections everywhere, kind and casually strong, and ultimately the one to save the entire kingdom with her bravery. I loved her reactions, her frustration, how she was well-developed and basically the most awesome <3 Also, Yanagi and Sakuno interactions are secretly one of my HANDS-DOWN favourite things in the world, and even Fee didn't know that, so I have NO idea how you did it, but you read my mind, and

You were one of the semi-finalists in my decision for whom this was, but yay, thank you so so soooooo much for such an awesome fic <3 It was a great pick-me-up after the hell that midterms have been! *glomps*

Ahahaha, I know those sorts of stories, they're always super fun, but also so confusing like 'where did this all come from?' But yes, thank you so much for those nuanced girls, cannot express how nice it was for there to be some awesomesauce characterization for the girls. And haha, she was just fine <3 She's too busy babysitting for adventures XDD

Kirihara is adorable <3 I love his chaotic mess and his little interaction with Shiraishi after the wall, and how exasperated Yanagi always is by him. And the threesome was perfect self-indulgence :D As was everything about Niou. /is still dying about Niou calling Yukimura 'pudding head' and being alive.

And poor sakuno baby XDD
