Hey all! I meant to keep up posting from DC, but with the walking the feet off and all, nothing was coming out polished. I hope everyone is having a lovely holiday! I am doin' pretty well; I've spent a good chunk of quality time with both sides of the family, I've made contact with friends, and I've gotten some good relaxation in.
Which is nice, because I've had some crap days in the past two weeks. And who better to tell it to than my lovely flist?
Things I Learned From This 'Bout of Airplane Travel
Seatbelts really are different sizes depending on the airline; the United flights on the way out were fine in the department, while the US Airways flights on the way back were really not.
If you stay quiet and pretend to sleep, they really won't notice you.

Last week apparently really did a number on me. I fell over (metaphorically) on Thursday and have only really crawled out a time or two since. But I got some writing done--by myself!--and looked at a great many soothing YouTube videos, and did quite a bit of social connection. Plus I bought spiffy underwear and sweaters. There's a saying I've picked up from working in the office: on travel. A feature of every staff meeting is discussing who'll be on travel in the next few weeks. When the office heads to conferences (sans me, sadly), they're always "on travel," and the Admin Assistant has to arrange "travel" for everyone
