One of my previous jobs was a huge headache for taxes since they paid you in full and it was up to you to declare all of the fun stuff on the forms. Such a pain, but you have to do what you have to do sometimes. Good luck with both interviews! They both sound like they could be interesting.

And someone told me you've been watching Sword Art Online, :D

Yes, that's the contractor gig. I've done it before, too--and when taxes came around all of us who were on that particular Project sort of flipped our lids at the taxes that had to be paid. I know people who work freelance and do it all the time, and taxes are such a bitch for them, too.

Both interviews did go well, but it looks like I got neither job. Que será será, that's kismet for you.

I HAVE. I DID. I watched 1-14 and now I have to wait for CrunchyRoll to get off its butt and show the rest of it. (That was after Pea kept posting pics of it, and one of the most judgy people I know on Twitter gave her rec for it, too.) Part of me is all TROPE! CLICHÉ! TROPE! And the other part of me is making cooing sounds at everything. It's so fascinating! <333

If you didn't get these two, that just means something better is just around the corner when you least expect it, :)

I am so excited that so many people I know are getting into SAO.

The pacing for this second arc has been driving me batty and I just couldn't wait anymore and jumped into the novels last week. I actually just finished the 6th one like an hour ago (the anime is set to cover the first four). I cannot wait to see certain scenes animated and the anime ending is going to just be amazing because it is the absolute perfect place to stop.

Aww, thank you, dear! Or there's a reason for me to stay gainfully unemployed right now. Just gotta get to work on it.

It's a really interesting and fantastic show! The way it half follows tropes, half plays with tropes, it makes me all squeeful, it really does. I didn't even mind the "kid" bit, for fuck's sake, I usually roll my eyes at that totally.

I went over to TVTropes myself, and man, I'd love to read those novels, because I cannot for the life of me figure out exactly what the timeline on those things are. (There's main plot and short stories?) And from what I know of this second arc? YES I BET THE ANIME IS GOING TO MAKE ME TEAR MY HAIR OUT I actually haven't gone back to Crunchyroll yet because I want a handful of episodes to watch at a time because aaaaaaaah. Also AAAAAGH.

Pea, Mari and I still need to go back and finish the first arc together, though, so that'll help as far as building up a backlog

I have no brain, so please to forgive the stupid.

I honestly can't remember where you live (NM?), but this is an idea to fulfill the requirements of unemployment. Some state jobsites (NM and Colorado just happen to be two), use NeoGov to run them. You fill out your application/resume with them once (count it! One time!) and you use that to apply to as many jobs as you need - whether you're qualified perfectly for them or not - to keep unemployment happy. No hoop jumping. No multiple web-site hopping. One resume. One place. Lotsa jobs.

And! As a bonus, you might stumble on a job you're qualified for, that you want, and that wants you.

Aww, thank you for the advice! Yes, I live in NM, and there is something like that for our state, too. But! A lot of the companies that roll with them require you to go to their website to fill out the job. CareerBuilder, the other job site I use, is a little more like what you're describing, but I still run into "filling out apps" and then I get annoyed and frustrated again. It wouldn't be so bad if I could just submit a resumé and a little info, but unfortunately, that's how it works.

Again, thanks! The system down here isn't quite so streamlined, but it often works, really. Just gotta not apply to places I've already apped with before, hehe ^^;;;

Hon, if it were up to me, the cards would fall in much more awesome ways for all of us. *hugs* Hope you're doing okay lately and good luck with the job hunt! (Also, you should tell me if you have a tumblr other than under tenebris!)

Aww! I agree to this sentiment, though hardship comes and go. Sometimes it'd be nice if it didn't feel like so much stress was sitting on *everyone's* head, though, ya know? *HUGS* Doing pretty well. Job hunt is still sucky, and I still need to call unemployment about more stuff and things for the coming year, so that's exciting, too!

...I do. I haven't been back to do more than LIKE things in a bit, though. Need to get back to posting. I made it sort of as a fandom aggregator, so I don't post it publically, but! I'll PM you the name. :)
