Greetings! I come to you from one of the local frozen yogurt (or "froyo," as the kids say, though this is possible some sort of mobile application platform* as well) places. This one is in Uptown, offers two kinds of Captain Crunch as toppings, has a happy hour, and currently is serving a fierce Pumpkin yogurt. Om nom nom, to say the least ( Read more... )

somewhere around 2/3 of the time i call myself ten.

That gives you an average value of 6.67 or so. I have no idea what kind of standard deviation that entails.

2/3 Ten, 1/3 My Name (Shortened, usually).

I was making a playing on the "half the time I ____" phrase, but now I sorta do want to make a pie chart. It'd probably run something like 48% Ten, 49% Shortened Name, with the extra percent left over for My Regular Length Name and stuff like "bitch" and "hey you." ;) I may do this next time I get to play in Excel.

Also: candy corn, YUM. Autumn Mix all the way, amirite?

As someone whose real name, which she hates, is only used on official and legal crap, including checks, this kinda scares me. I try not to think of the fact, when I write a check, that there's a human being who is seeing the awful thing my parents cruelly saddled upon me.

Aww! I don't particularly like my name either; it's long and crunchy and has never fit me very well. But honestly, sweetheart, I'm not making a judgment based on name; I am taking note of a name and going, "Hey that's neat!" or "That seems common." Also, see the part where I'm WEIRD, and the part where it's really last names we pay attention to, not first. :)

(Not only that, but you can specify--at least for our system--that it recognize you with the name you prefer, and add an AKA for legal stuff. Or so it seems with some stuff I get in, which takes a bit to match up.)

The sad part of supremely awesome names is that they are usually pretty recognizable and you can't really share them.

EXACTLY. I even tested this in Google one day when I came across a Name Worthy of Sharing, and the first results were that person. No dice, no sharing, and I feel like a little bit of awesome has been denied the world. Confidentiality: it does that sometimes.

What exactly is a 'Tenebris'? If there is no definition, I'd like to make one:

Lovely person who writes some of the best Sailor Moon fanfiction around and who also takes really lovely pictures.

A "tenebris" is from the Latin "tenebra," meaning "darkness" or "shadows." More specifically, it's the Dative and Ablative plural of it. As it's generally used in the plural, you could translate it as "to the darkness" or "from the darkness." :)

I got it from the song Ai no Fugue, as I was searching for a username not in English, Japanese, or Spanish, and it's a pretty prominent word in that song. And it's served me well.

Your definition is too sweet, honey ;___; I am flattered! And under my rock again...

Not only do I like seeing that you are still alive *little dance of celebration*, but I really like your icon. It's great and appropriate.

D'aww, thanks. I just posted last week, guys, I didn't think it was so long! And YES. I think I had just watched the Haiku Tunnel and this guy's stand-up with you when I went to work for AISES, and so when I needed a work icon for it, this was immediately the image I wanted. And it is VERY appropriate for this job, even though no one actually licks envelopes closed anymore ;)

*HUGS*
