Yeah, I like "Lorelei" too

One of the people on my "Friends" list asked me about the Cafe Babar poetry scene and about the late David Lerner. I apologize for taking an inordinate amount of time to answer...I'm on Spring Break now, so shall attempt a partial answer, at least ( Read more... )

Good poem, Lester. From what I've seen from your posts and my limited access to your work, I think you would have fit in quite well at the Babar.

I've noticed we seem to have some musical/literary tastes in common as well.
Looking forward to reading more from you,
Kathleen

Thank you! :-D

Looking forward to reading more from you as well.
And, yes--we do have that ol' "punk rawk" thing in common...and not the current defanged/declawed sense of the term either.

Do take care, and till again--all best!

Hi Kathleen. I am sorry for sorta dissapperaing on you. ...Gee, um, that was really good. Not just the subject, but your way of telling the story. I really think that you should be writing some amazing epic memoir. Perhaps you are...I just know that you really should...

THe Difficulty of Actually Finishing Prose... tenderloinrose March 23 2006, 23:20:29 UTC
Uh...yeah, Violet, what was up with that anyway? I was feeling pretty confused and mad at myself for coming up with that hare-brained scheme to keep from having to pay for the Elyseum gig. Oh, and kind of hurt. If you don't have my e-mail right now, let me know. I can't it out on a public board for security reasons.
As far as the memoir idea goes, at a recent reading, I was looking through my stuff, and I realized that if I actually finished the prose pieces I've begun on the sex industry, kink parties, and the like, I'd probably have about a third of a book. If I finished the non-sex-related stories, I could probably boost that to half a book, but it would lack cohesion. WHat I would like to do is finish the sex stuff I've started, write some more stuff on the same subject, add some poetry, and organize the whole chronologically according to whatever year the story was about.
Now, all this sounds great, but I haven't had much luck finishing what I start when I'm dealing with prose. So, who knows when or if it will happen.
