I'm glad she's back inside and safe. Although coyotes in the backyard are definitely not a good thing, maybe they were in this one instance. I hope that she realizes how good she has it, and stays inside!
Coyotes are bad, but it was only because they were there that she felt threatened enough to seek help that gave Mom the opportunity to catch her. They were essential in this case.
I opened the big window today because it was 82 outside. She looked a bit alarmed/wary and turned her back to it, kinda like, "oh no. I don't think so!" She went up once to sit on the sill (and it was one of her fav places before) but then Brindle came up on the other side of the screen and looked at her evilly. She hissed and ran away. I think she does actually *want* to be here right now. I'm so relieved.
She's actually seemed a little better, but that may be because I'm less worried about her. *g*
We cannot get her to take the pills. lyraeinne looked it up online and it took two of us to try to get her to take it, but she keeps spitting them out. So far, we've gotten her to take one by putting it in some wet food, but even that has ceased to work.
We even tried shutting her in a room with a little bit of food with the pill in it, but she freaks out when confined in any way--even to a room. Didn't work.
I also haven't given her the Advantage yet. I bought it online, but it hasn't arrived yet. I'm hoping that will do the trick and her skin irritation will clear up once ALL the fleas and their eggs are completely gone.
Reggie, my best cat ever, had kitty AIDS, which left him with a poor immune system. He got a fungal infection in the nose, which, if a cat can't smell, they won't eat. He had a feeding tube for 4 months and we fed him every 6 hours. But my point is that he had to take a very expensive pill for almost two years, and at first it was twice a day (the pill cost about $4 each.) I loved that cat and gave up eating out/movies/daytrips willingly
