Most of the political parties are firmly in the blue area (we have a couple that are in the green here but not nearly enough left to match my convictions). It's really hard to reconcile :-(
Please don't get me started on religion. I personally believe that religion needs to get out of schools, business, government and have their non-profit status revoked permanently. Religion is personal and should stay that way ;-) Ooops! My left leaning anarchist self just peeked through!
I ended up a bit further left than I expected to, based on how right I appeared on a different poll (although most have me almost dead center--zats_clear has accused me of being a unicorn since I'm politically a moderate "centrist").
I get pissed off at the idiocy of the Republican disdain. I get annoyed at the Democrat presumptions...and I hear both here on lj and within friends and family. I tend to want to play devil's advocate when I hear proselitization from either side. Which is why I don't tend to talk about politics much.
Democrats. I've been waiting for them to somehow lose this election when it should have been a sure thing. There's just something about them (in general) that makes me want to give them a good shake.
One thing that really annoys me is that Republican smirk. It seems to say that if I'm not on with their secret handshake and know all that they know, I'm woefully stupid and naive and quite laughable. That smirk is beginning to make my hackles rise.
I was gonna not comment on politics but the folks at work have gotten me all worked up. *g*
