Animne Weekend Atanta

koneko posted not too long ago that the AWA rooms were beginning to open up. So I figured it was time to start assembling our rooming list. I know lias and I were talking about looking at other hotels that were close by. We usually stay at the Sheraton, but I think we were going to look at the Embassy Suites.

If you would like to be in a room with "us" for ( Read more... )

The prices look comparable too. We use to love the Sheraton b/c it came with a free breakfast, but they stopped that a couple years back. Combine that w/ the fact that they're not very con-friendly, IMO, and the outside elevators are always down (which you you need to get to upper area where the mall/bridge is) its worth it to look at other options. I mean, I love PF Changs being right there but the Embassy doesn't look to be too far off.

Thanks for your input! You always seem to have very high standards, so I know if you're praising it, it must be good. =D

We always stay at the Day's Inn. It's about a mile away and has convenient turn offs. It's very easy to get to, never gets into thick traffic, and we've stayed there from (our) con one. The staff isn't the best in the world, and the "continental breakfast" kinda sucks, but eh.. it's cheap and it's an anime convention. Who really cares since we're not going to be in the hotel much anyways, right?

.... don't tell your friends though. I've noticed it's been getting more con-ier and con-ier each year. I might have to buy my tickets before August.. ;P

Our group actually spends a fair amount of time in our hotel. Its come to be that AWA is how many ppl get to see each other at all, now at least. So we go and do con stuff for a while, then go back and crash in the room.

Last year Gabe brought couple of GameCubes and networked them together to play MarioKart; and we had my computer hooked up to it so we could watch DVDs, anime, and whatever else we felt like it. We'll also play like Apples to Apples, put our figures into "dirty" positions, and just have a good time.

Do you drive over to the con, or walk?

Thanks for the input!

It's a drive to the con because it's on the other side of the interstate, but it's not a bad drive. Might be longer than a mile, now that I think about it, because I wouldn't walk there... Still not a bad trip.

And yeah, I guess I understand about wanting to stay in the hotel. We go there and catch up on sleep. And last time, our interests conflicted and we couldn't see Lupin III vs. Detective Conan, so we downloaded it and watched it in the room. lol

I'm game for the room and the group tickets. I need to wait until my paycheck the 12th before I'd be able to get any money to you, though. (Only have $15 in my bank account, ahhh!)
