[ That is good advice. Unfortunately, Allen is sort of. . . wedged inside the doorway, one bag somehow jammed between shoulder and head, and the other balanced on one knee. The fact that only one jar fell is probably a miracle. Now the question is how he's going to get out of this without dropping more. ]

[ She gathers up her journal, standing up very slowly before walking over. And then? She just kind of stares at him in his predicament- she can't really get past him as is, but unusually, she doesn't seem amused, annoyed, or concerned like someone who just ran into such an obstacle normally would be. ]

[ Allen eyes the first bag-with some difficulty, since it's just at the corner of his eye. Then he pushes the contents of the bag on his knee down a bit and hefts it into the air, heeling the door to keep it open. This gives him enough time to step outside and unshoulder the first bag. It settles into the crook of his arm while he reaches forward and catches the other falling bag.
A little showy, sure, but hey. ]
I wasn't expecting the floors to be cleaned today. . .
[ His voice trails off a bit; is it his imagination, or is the ground wet wherever she's standing. . . ? ]

She's not really familiar with the concept of floors being cleaned manually or requiring water to do so though. She tilts her head at him. ]

[ She steps through, around the broken glass, but isn't particularly concerned about it. ]

[ But it's wet, still, and-from where she's come in, the water gleams like a path. Before she can head further inward, Allen calls over to her. ]
