---SPOILER WARNING--- Opal's decision at the end really surprised me, just because it's not something I see done in fantasy book. Typically a character will gain power throughout the series, going from mediocre, to super awesome. To have a character completely sacrifice those abilities in book two typically isn't done, and really showed that despite any bitterness Opal showed throughout the book, she's still a really good person. I'm really curious to see what this magical immunity means for Spy Glass. ---END SPOILERS---
I think SEA GLASS is one of my favorite Snyder novels, just for the ending alone. I was SO IMPRESSED that Opal made that sacrifice! I can't wait for the next book!
