Sandman is, arguably, one of my favorite things ever--but it got off to a rocky start. It took a bit for Gaiman to figure out what on Earth he was doing. Once he did, it was (imho) breathtaking.

It makes sense. It was at an early part of his career. I'm looking forward to reading A Doll's House.

The collection then ends with a one shot called “The Sound of her Wings” which introduces the character of Death.

That's a great issue. :)

I'm looking forward to your future reviews of this series. It does get better and better...

(BTW: your Goodreads rating is 3 stars, I noticed). :)

It's 3 stars because on goodreads I try to stick to their classifications instead of my own. They consider a 3-star review to mean "I liked it" which is what my 4 star reviews mean. So that's why all of my 4 star reviews are 3-stars. I'm okay with switching the stars but I really wish they'd switch to a system with half stars. Five possible rankings is not nuanced enough for me. I need moar!

Ah. I barely know what Goodreads' standards are! I ignore them. But yes, they need half-stars. :)
