I had all the same issues you did. What's worse is I already had book two on my shelf, but I decided it wasn't worth making myself read it if I was so unhappy with book one, so I passed it on through Paperback Swap. :)

It feels good not to be alone on this one. I know the series has a lot of fans.

And because it has a lot of fans, I'm sure that person on paperbackswap will appreciate the fact that you posted it. :)

It may have a lot of fans, but it didn't get a lot of sales. The author either had to self-publish or go through a super-small press to get the third book released. :-/

That's disheartening. That's probably why it was on sale for so cheap on audible.
