I'm sorry to hear this didn't work for you, but if it's any consolation, I had problems too. And unfortunately for me, I've read all her novels to date and I'm left feeling this will be the last one I read from her. Oh well... more next week!

Yeah, it wasn't for me. But it was a relatively easy read at least.

I take it you feel as if things have gone downhill from Wicked Lovely?

I think the second book was just as good, but in a different way. However, book three? Jesus... there were a LOT of problems with that book, and things definitely went downhill from there as a whole. Marr's gotten too fond of multiple, random POVs, and they just litter her manuscripts!

I understand what you mean about multiple POVs. There were a few instances where I wasn't really sure we were switching to a certain character in this book, especially when the chapter was only a 2-3 pages long.

I read Graveminder earlier this month and had a lot of the same issues that you did. The romance drove me crazyyy! So much angsting from both main characters.

Oh yeah. And I'm currently reading a book that does romance very well, so it seems ever weaker by comparison.

The romance bit grows old fast. However, I really enjoyed the paranormal aspects of the novel. Overall, the good outweighed the bad for me. At least you gave it a chance, right?

Right. I'm glad that you enjoyed this one more than I did!

Terrific work! This is the type of information that should be shared around the web. Shame on the search engines for not positioning this post higher!
