I'm so glad that you're enjoying the game. I like the fact that while there are tons of quests that either really need you to have a group or at least would be easier with one, you can sometimes manage them solo or just skip them. I do most of my playing solo, I don't really do raids or PvMP, and I still always feel like there's something for me to do. (Yeah, kins are there for social reasons for me, though I gladly help kinmates out when I can.)
As for the maturity level, I actually hear that a lot, but having only played on this MMO, I couldn't say. I do know there are definitely idiots out there, too, but I guess no game will ever manage to be completely free of them.

You should see FFXI again, the new content there is really cool! Especially Level Syncing, Fields of Valor, and the mini expansions!
