oh, this was wonderful, thanks for sharing it! I especially love the last 3 sentences, a perfect poetic ending.

Shockingly late reply (blaming flooding at home and network outages), but thank you. I love writing these two- they give me all kinds of wonderful happy-sad feelings.

Interesting. I like the idea of them having a practice Asguard.

Thank you. I reckon River and the Doctor probably became quite expert at getting the most of their days together, especially once both of them became aware that there were only going to be so many occasions where each person knew who the other person was.

Oh. So true. Theirs was such a heartbreaking story, and yet I just couldn't resist being drawn in. Just the same as they couldn't resist falling in love with each other.

This is just lovely-delightfully written, and I loved your characterizations of River and Eleven! The banter was fantastic all throughout, sharp and fast and hilarious. I loved the Doctor being pretty unwell but unwilling to stay put, and River being all stern ^_^ Loved her catching him as he almost fell, and his perceptions of her-thinking it had been too fast at first, then recognizing it was indeed her at her sure and familiar way of handling his body. Just wonderful! I also loved the TARDIS creating a fake Asgard for them, with your descriptions of the change through the Doctor's perceptions, and River's cheerful explanation :D ( ... )

What a wonderful comment, thank you - and apologies for the lateness in replying. Struggling with connection issues in a rain-soaked corner of rural England.
I have so much fun writing these two, and not just because they're my OTP. There's something about the way they talk to each other- genuine mutual affection wrapped in secrecy wrapped in about a dozen layers of snark- that's just a joy to try and replicate.
Their story fascinates me too- the twistiness of it, the lies and the revisions and the trust that persists and even grows in spite of everything. And the idea that they can, however briefly, achieve a perfect understanding somewhere in the midst of their tangled timelines, is just so beautiful and tragic at the same time.
Yes. They give me a great number of feelings, these two.

No worries for the lateness, I understand that :)

This so much… There are just a hundred nuances to convey in their interactions, and it's delightful ♥ And you completely did that justice, too! Nodding along to everything you said about them, besides. With a huge grin. My babies. Their history is so entangled-and being a sucker for angst and tragedy, well… ;)

Feelings everywhere! ;) Thanks for sharing the lovely fic!

Oh, I love everything about this! The plot, the dialogue, the spot-on characterisation... *flails*

Oh, and this "Okay. Just a small legs-related setback here, nobody panic. Normal service will resume-” induced sudden Eleven-withdrawal. In the best way. Oh, Eleven. <3

Thank you. I am slowly coming to realise just how stupidly much I miss Eleven. Excited for Capaldi, too, and already ruminating on River/Twelve fic because, well, Capaldi.
But these two are/were so damn perfect together that flangsty 11/River stories like the above have basically become my coping strategy in the aftermath of the Xmas special.

Me too, me too. I get super excited seeing the Capaldi filming pics... and then I watch some Eleven vid and it's all a big happy/sad circle. (Although River/Twelve... yes pls.)

And oh wow this fic made me... nostalgic, I guess, because it reminded me so much of the early River/11 fic from like 2010 and gnjdgkfj. I thínk it's the flangst -- anyhow, it's perfect.
