Oh! I really like this. Very sweet brotherly love, and very fitting for poor teen misfit Charles.

I had sort of vaguely wondered why/how the Xaviers adopted some random little girl overnight, but it had obviously not occurred to me that Charles had anything to do with it. But of course he did, that makes so much sense.

This is exactly how I pictured the two of them growing up together. I'm marveling a little at how clear a picture the movie managed to convey to make that possible, but more so at your skill of capturing that and creating a scene that feels right immediately.
