Beautiful! The way you characterise Spock is so subtle and precise - quite melancholic, but still there's the feeling of a new beginning. I especially liked the detail about that Kirk would like the name of the planet - that really illustrated their relationship very well. You need to be pretty close to someone to know such a thing...

Also, the name of Spock's ship always makes me happy.

There should be more Spock prime/Kirk prime reboot stuff around, I think.

Spock -- Prime, I mean -- is one of those people who has a long, outwardly-successful life that is marked by a lot of personal pain, and I think you drew that out here.
