Honestly, Julie, I just went fishing earlier this year and as I was gutting the fish I just became enamored with how the fish heads looked. I thought it would be cool to do an image of a fish head with the blood turning into filigree. I could have just painted it (and I probably will get around to a painting), but being a tattooist, I was on the lookout for anyone who would like such a thing. I could get deeper than that if someone were to look for meaning within the image, but often I find with my work that comes later, in the process of creating the image rather than the conception of the image. I tend to think too much time spent in the conception phase turns out something that looks contrived. Thank you though :)
LOL, that's a good enough reason as any :) I don't need deeper meaning. I was just wondered what inspired it. It is really cool :) Just... a little odd, but then many things we do in life are odd from putting holes in tender parts of our bodies to chasing cows on horses...
And I can understand what you mean about too much time spent in the conception phase. I feel that way with writing too, at least for me. The one story I fully (hahah, yeah... anyway...) outlined before I started writing, didn't feel so good writing until I ran out of outline and all of a sudden a whole new part of the store unfolded... and it's so much better than the first bit.
