Ice-skating. Mikaela hadn't been ice-skating since she was a little kid. She was certain she could skate enough to keep from dying, but anything beyond that she wasn't so confident on. She had to admit, though, that as fun as this had sounded in the beginning, she was cold.

And so Mikaela was sitting on a bench near the pond, pulling her sweatshirt tightly closed and thinking of ways not to die from boredom, when she spotted someone very familiar looking. Her favorite angst bucket!

"Hey, Merton! What's up?"

Riku had planned on meeting with Mikaela at the park, for reasons unknown to him besides, perhaps... to do what they'd done to 'warm up' when it was hailing? He found himself smiling rather absently at that particular memory, a pleasurable fluttery sensation filling his chest. He was in retrospect quite surprised when his legs ended up taking him to the correct place.

He curiously eyed the frozen pond, then spotted that spiky-haired goth nearby... Merton, was it? Along with his own girlfriend - though he wasn't sure she considered them an item yet - sitting on a bench greeting said goth.

Riku waved to him upon arriving, sitting down beside Mikaela with a casual, "Hey."

Merton turned at the sound of a familiar voice calling him. Well, then. It really was a small world. City. Yes, city. Because apparently they couldn't leave the city. Which was a bit of a problem, really.

"Oh, nothing much- just going for a walk on a frozen lake in the middle of summer. You know, the usual."

He gestured to the pond, glancing back in time to see the silver-haired guy approach-- Riku?

Yeah, it was definitely easy to run into people here.

"Hey," she replied, shooting a grin at Riku. "Geez, took you long enough. If you'd waited any longer I would have frozen to death," she teased, leaning over to give him a one-armed hug.

And then it was back to teasing Merton. "Oh, of course. Doesn't your world have magically freezing ponds? No? I don't know how you survive."
