Padme was freezing, too, but she'd been searching for Anakin for what felt like forever, and now she didn't even notice the chill. She felt more than just a little horrible, considering it had been training, only training, and of course it was! She was an idiot to think any differently.

And finally, she spotted a silhouette down by the river. It was, she realized as she drew closer, her husband, and she broke into a run, though she skidded to a stop when she got close. Padme wasn't sure how angry he was. She didn't want to make things worse.

"Ani. Ani, I'm so sorry. I thought... I didn't..." The former senator closed her eyes, took a few deep breaths in an attempt to stop herself from trembling. It didn't work. Funny how she was more terrified of messing this up when she'd never been nearly this scared speaking in the senate. "I made a mistake. I'm sorry."

There had been a part of him that wasn't expecting her to show up. He figured she was so upset that she didn't want to see him and when she did show up, all Anakin could do was look at his feet. When she spoke, he turned his head half way, but didn't look at her. Not because of his mood but because he didn't want to turn around all the way. "Don't apologize." His voice was soft, hinting no sign of any anger whats so ever. That's all he managed to say before looking up at the sky once more.

Padme noticed the lack of anger and was, admittedly, surprised. He had every right to be angry at her, misunderstanding or no. She hesitated, then moved to kneel in front of him, brushing the hair out of his eyes and forcing a smile. "I overreacted, though. I shouldn't have hit you." She paused for a moment, then kissed the place she'd slapped and hugged him tightly. "I need to apologize."

Anakin was more afraid that she'd leave him. For whatever reason there was that fear and it sadden him more than angered him. He didn't want to keep making mistakes that would drive her away. When he noticed she force a smile, he tried to copy but it was no use, only one part of his mouth curled up. "It's my fault. I hesitated. When I could have explained the situation, I picked to remain quiet."
