School or Office?

Dear All,

Ok so I have once again been thinking about my school. I am on this strech of thinking about my school really as an office. Ok I have some reasons. First, thought, lets start with some definitions.

Is this a bad time to point out that as depressing as these details are, you're doing this again a 3rd year? Sorry, post-recontracting blues (not that it were a great big spark of sunshine to begin with) but damn.

Making worksheets, checking spelling...that's teacherly. Then again, a lot of teachers would be much happier to kick the kids out. So if they could just all switch to juku, maybe that would fix things in a hurry. >:)

Very valid points indeed. Of course since the majority of JETs enjoy doing nothing and being paid for it, they will probably continue to stay on. Thus, you might voice concern over this matter, but I doubt this will really have any major influence on anyone on the program, but make the peoples at home "ooh" and "aah" about how the Japanese public education system might suck.

Oh and a correction to your post. It's not rice patties they are going to, it's....dun dun dun...construction! A top choice second only to the tried and true, arbeit route. Of course, we are both probably hitting that stereotype tap a bit too much now, eh?
