Well, HBO and the BBC did Rome, and Showtime did The Tudors, for better or worse. Maybe historical serials might catch on? Although if they are all like The Tudors, I will cry.

In my wildest dreams, there will be a series on the Wars of the Roses and someone will hire me to write it. I know the BBC has done a few miniseries based on Sarah Waters' novels, set in Victorian London, and every now and then something like Cambridge Spies or The Lost Prince will pop up. I think half of it is just looking around at the right time.

Yes, they do seem to come in waves. And I wonder how much of it is that some of these series haven't been picked up by mainstream channels in the US; I happened to catch Affinity a week ago because my mother has Logo, but that was purely by accident.

I'm actually surprised there hasn't been a series on the Wars of the Roses yet!
