It makes no SENSE. How can you say something is an adaptation if it bears no similarities to the original beyond a few names?

See the movie I, Robot. Rumor is that they bought the rights to the book strictly for the title--certainly the script looks that way.

Perhaps. But Little Women is a terrible title for a dystopia TV show. :)

I mean, I'm sure that associating the show with Little Women drums up interest and makes it stand out when the show is being shopped around; I just don't see how it doesn't then backfire when the concept sounds so ridiculous and absolutely nothing like the book. But then, I don't work in television.

IT IS LIKE THE CW LOOKED AT REIGN AND DECIDED THEY HAD STAYED TOO CLOSE TO THE SOURCE MATERIAL

LOL where is the lie though. "Hyper-stylized" ? "Gritty" ?? Honestly I read this and think, Oh dear, another show for my misogyny bingo sheets.*

*note: i don't actually have misogyny bingo sheets, but i've seen enough of game of thrones and outlander to feel like they could be a thing.

You should totally make misogyny bingo sheets! Sadly, I bet you would have no shortage of events and tropes to fill up the cards.
