I think that the scenario from your dream would provide excellent material for a short story. There's just enough plot, and you could flesh out the characters and the interactions. I would read it! Just saying.

Well, maybe. :) I'm not sure it has an ending, though - like, the dad fails to buy the jersey, and then...they go home disappointed? That seems like a letdown!

What about putting something in the end that they discover about how the attempt to buy the jersey affected the player?
