And I didn't get to see Othello, either--we got to London two days after the last performance. I'm hoping this is viewable on all DVD players; I suspect it would have to be, right? But I've emailed them to check ( Read more... )

If they ever do this with 2005 Tempest I'll just die in the shop.

Hee! But then you wouldn't be able to watch it!

*I* would be inclined to die if it turned out they'd filmed their Twelfth Night and made it available to purchase. I'm *so* jealous of everyone who's seen it.

Oh, now they start selling DVDs. Bah to you, Globe Shop! Surely you can work something out with the BBC?

(I want to see Measure for Measure, dammit. Also I'd love to have a version of Richard II that I can actually watch on my TV rather than my laptop [which lacks a DVD burner].)

Yes, my squee was definitely mingled with a good bit of disgruntledness about the performances I *hadn't* been able to see because they weren't on DVD. But maybe if sales are good, they'll make this a regular occurrence?

I'm always irritated that the Globe doesn't have more cities (meaning, cities closer to me!) on its USA tours. A friend of mine got to see Measure for Measure in Philadelphia--so not fair. I mean, good for her, but so not fair. But at least you have *some* form of Richard II? That's something, at least...

Oh, I am, too, although I suppose Minneapolis isn't that far away. And sometimes they go to Chicago. I lucked out with the Twelfth Night tour because they went to Ann Arbor, and I wonder why they don't do so more often. Bastards. ;)

I can link you to the Globe Richard II when I get home, if you like -- I'm in the office right now and can't remember the address. :)

(Late reply, but) Ooh, I'd love it if you linked me to Richard II at some point!
