Your banter is adorable as always, and the characterisation is perfect. The idea that the biggest thing standing between them is themselves is so adorably sweet I might keel over in a diabetic coma any time now.

However, sad that you're leaving it here. There are still a few (one) external obstacles (Rafe) that you could so deal with spectacularly. That's just me being greedy though.

Beautiful fic, heartwarming cuteness, and well written enough that the slightly over-the-top declarations (common to soaps so you can get away with them in this) didn't leave me going 'as if anyone says that', but rather "AwwwwwwMG!"

Loved it.

'Over the top declarations?' I haven't the faintest idea what you're talking about ***eyes staring at the ceiling*** Yeah, well, it wouldn't be a soap fic without them would it? It's funny that you say that because, now that I've had some distance from the show, I can go back to some of those scenes from the actual show, like the graveyard scene, and be like 'woah'. I still love it, because, sometimes you just want some over dramatic mush and angst, but, still it's kind of amusing to watch when you're not as invested in the storyline anymore since the show ended.

Oh God, yes. The first time I watched a lot of this show I was all...awww, or OMG DIE! Depending on who's talking, and about what. Although...cause I watched a lot of it over youtube in one day I got really sick of them having the first couple of minutes of every scene devoted to recapping what had just happened last time we'd seen them. "I JUST WATCHED THAT. My memory isn't that shit."

But yeah - now that I think about it it's just....whoa. Get's me back to thinking...how to soap opera people keep a straight face? I would crack myself laughing if I had to deliver that line.

I still think you should have written in Rafe's reaction. I'm a greedy cow.

Yeah, I think the actors have to just commit to the material, no matter 'whoa' it seems on the paper, otherwise it ends up looking reaaaaaally bad. I'm sure if someone that didn't commit to it like Crystal Chappell that graveyard scene would have been a train wreck. And while that scene, when you lay it out on paper, is so melodramatic, I don't mind because her performance was earnest and that made me believe in it.

As for Rafe...yeah, that's probably not gonna happen. I've got some other fandoms that are capturing my interest at the moment so I'm not sure I'd be able to go back to Otalia and do it justice. I'd be too distracted.

Awww, thanks! Means a lot that some many people are re-reading it! I don't think I'll be writing more. I've pretty much laid to rest my Otalia fandom, but, who knows? If my muse kicks me in that direction, I certainly won't deny her.
