Yes I've been hearing about ACTA and went a googling following your comment. Looks as if Europe haven't signed up yet but can do so up until 2013. This one shouldn't go under the radar either.

Have voted and joined. As usual there were more icons I wanted to vote for than votes allowed!

The fact that SOPA and PIPA were dropped show they really did not know what they were doing when they set them up. Wonder what the next uninformed knee jerk reaction will be and how it will limit people's rights and freedoms...

Re: SOPA/PIPA so true. Basically the producers of this original material need to wake up to the fact that it's the 21st Century, the world is connected globally by the 'net and the only way to discourage wide-scale piracy is to change the way they deliver their content. Make it available world-wide at the same time and people will pay a reasonable amount for a legitimate source.

ITA. It's the record companies all over again. When the technology to distribute music online became available and the consumers wanted to buy music online, the companies continued to try and sell CDs instead of developing new systems... *steps off soapbox*
