Wow -- this' just great! I especially loved Part III, where Temeraire asked her. Yes, someone must teach this fellow about propriety! Very well done.

Thank you! I think that one is my favorite as well, actually.

I have to say, I felt like I was reading something Naomi herself had written (or may yet! ;))

Oh, this is wonderful! I love them all, especially the last. (Though it seems odd that she's still calling him Laurence after 30 years.) I adore Jane, and the Laurence/Roland relationship is one of my favorite things in the books.

Thank you! It hadn't even occured to me that she might switch to "Will" eventually - it seems to me like he's just Laurence to pretty much everyone, including Temeraire. It's the sort of habit that's hard to break, I think.

Oh, I love them all. My favorite is the one right after battle - I love that he loves that side of her, that he can see its inherent hotness. And the one with Temeraire asking was so cute, and the after-sex was very nicely done, and I like the sweetness of the last one. Okay, I'm rambling, but this fic was sweet and I liked it a lot.

Oh, how wonderful--it's great to see fic, especially fic that can address all the issues re: a Jane/Laurence marriage (she doesn't really see the point in it, he thinks there's every point to it) and still be so light. And Temeraire's proposal has to be my favorite part. Hah!

You know, the thing is, when I first read the actual marriage proposal scene in EoI, I laughed. And then I realized that poor Laurence had actually meant it and just made a total cock-up of it and then I stopped laughing, but my initial reaction was to giggle. So I think this fic is a natural extension of that.

I think Temeraire's proposal is my favorite as well. Thanks for commenting!

Ah, wunderbar! Like everyone, I adored Temeraire's proposal: for all his brains, Temeraire has never seen the point of installing a filter between thought and deed. But the post-battle one was excellent, too, especially with that little parallel with his previous sweetheart, because it perfectly illustrates the long, LONG way Laurence has come. You address that quite well in all of these, actually. That stiff navy formality's never going to be entirely shaken, but damn if it won't loosen up a bit over the years, to the point where a refusal isn't even entirely earth-shattering. Beautiful work, fabulous adherence to detail (I love that you remembered Jane's laugh), no grammatical errors in sight-- you're a wonder. Nice job.

Thank you! *blushes*

Each of these Laurences is, in its own way, a different Laurence, and all five of them are slightly different from the version we get in canon. I did it that way mostly to try and keep each scene unique (I was particularly concerned that II and IV were too similar), but I'm glad you think it said something. It's always nice when that happens without me having to try too hard. :-)
