I have written you all a story. It is 11 paragraphs long. Read it! The entire thing hinges on you knowing what a certain word means. Also, I included a Jabberwocky reference. (snicker-snack) Go, read
( Read more... )
Yeah, it means to frolic or to be playful. I didn't think it was a real common word and the entire thing hinges on you knowing what that means. I thought it was funny, but it elicits groans from everyone else.
Right. I came here from your customers_suck post, at the very least interested in what you've learned/been taught about IT, et cetera, as I've just recently become obsessed with internet security and plugging those vaunted holes for the challenge of doing so.
Then I find a story that, while it could be better formatted, was unexpectedly witty and an enjoyable little aside to wander into. So I thought I'd let you know that I really did like it and it reminded me not only of Lewis Carroll, but Christopher Paolini, and even a bit of Joss Whedon's and JK Rowling, each's, obsession with wordplay.
Wow. This is a one off thing I wrote because I wanted use the gamboling play on words. But yeah, I don't really update LJ anymore. I just hit up communities once in a while.
I didn't expect anyone to ever notice it again, really. I don't typically feel like I'm a very good writer. I understand a lot of grammar rules just fine, it's the actual creative content that gives me problems. I actually have tumblr which I use as a story dump, but the most recent stuff was me writing stories about a girl I like in an (extremely strange) attempt to hit on her. It sort of worked, as she agreed to go out on a date with me. Then she kept canceling any date scheduled. I just gave up on her after 3 cancellations.
Er, sorry. Off topic.
Also, As it turns out, I still laugh at the last two paragraphs.
