Something I've been realising as I've done the Lands of Magic challenge and was trying to make signature tags, although to be honest I've known this for a while, is that I have too many fandoms. I have as many icons as it's possible for me to have on Dreamwidth, and I'm still without representation in so many of my shows - just been eyeing up some ( Read more... )

I strive NOT to get sucked into additional fandoms. I was a one-fandom gal for awhile (HP), but then I found FAKE and enjoyed it, and last year I got swept up in Cal Leandros. I was late to that party, however, and I've not seen any active fanfic for it except what I write.

I'm active in a few fandoms right now; it depends on which ones I find myself hyperfocused at the time, while I also have a long list of fandoms on my AO3 as well.

I guess it depends on what being “in” a fandom means. Right now, I’m watching/catching up on a lot of shows. But there are probably only less than a handful that I’m active in (reading fanfic, writing, discussing the fandom, etc.) Merlin is still one of my main ones. And there’s still General Hospital and Call Me By Your Name.

I think the experience of being in the LOST fandom was consequential for a lot of us. Not surprising that there's a throughline in which fandoms grab you.

I seem to always have a few fandoms in play at any given time. These days I'm only writing in LOST, but am reading in OFMD, Ted Lasso, Captain America (Stucky) and The Mandalorian (Din/Cobb. But, I must admit, I'm mostly LOST-focused ATM.
