Love it. I now want to give Rodney the full Navarone set.

*grins* Thanks! And yeah, at first I was thinking John would get him some vintage action figures or something and then I thought "duh...the cars!"

Lovely!

I hadn't seen these ones before, and I have a weak spot for (all too rare) well done trans fic. What a wonderful set.

Thank you! Now that fic exchange season is over, I really need to get back and write more about these two because I do like them. :)

I like dolls, but the best part of Christmas day when I was a kid was that we went to Auntie Nora's and played with whatever my wild boy cousins got: robots, cars, Tonka stuff. Now, I got my own wrecking bar when I was six and drove a real tractor by the time I was ten, but except for the time my sister and I got shiny silvery plastic revolvers that shot real plastic bullets (one of the '50s few advantages was insanely dangerous toys) we got girlie toys.

Boys toys are the coolest.

Julia, missing the stinky dangerous chemistry sets one used to find...

Boys toys were totally the coolest. I think my dad kind of wanted a boy and while he really did get resigned to having two girls and never made us feel weird about it, he really did indulge my tomboy inclinations. So I had a very cool Hot Wheels set and other things like that, although nothing so dangerous as guns that shot things. By the late '60s those sorts of toys were on the way out. :(

That's freaking adorable. I'm all girl, but I always wanted the boys' toys too. Well, I wanted the RC cars and the Easy Bake Oven too, actually. I was a greedy thing.

*grins* I had Hot Wheels and later Barbies, so yeah, I got the best of both worlds. :)

Glad you liked this!
