Okay, definition time!

This comes out of a discussion being held in a flocked post of mine. I though about doing a poll but I'm pretty sure I'd leave things out and so I'm just going to ask some questions ( Read more... )

Have to be more lucid to answer the rest, but the last? Also a yes. One of, if not the, most romantic things I've ever written is a snuff fic (okay, the guy can't stay dead, but still, it's pretty hardcore and horrifying. And it's the start of a love story).

It's Torchwood. And it started as a joke. Which makes sense if you're in the fandom, but yeah, is otherwise scaaaary.

What do you consider to be hardcore BDSM?

A scene with strictly observed dom/sub roles, with participants engaging in activities that require a huge amount of trust on both sides: electricity play, burning/branding, piercing, scarring, singletail whipping, heavy caning.

What do you consider to be hardcore D/s?

Partners engaging in thoroughly discussed and defined dominant and submissive roles that call for a huge commitment of trust. The activities don't have to be extreme, but the power exchange is significant.

What do you consider to be hardcore S/M?

Electricity play, burning/branding, piercing, scarring, singletail whipping, heavy caning, long-term denial/chastity, CBT, and depending on the people involved, possibly fisting, golden showers and scat.

What do you consider to be hardcore kink?Kink's more nebulous for me. I tend to think kink is more of a mental thing for the characters involved ( ... )

On the other hand, if Rodney wants to give John an absinthe enema, and John's like, *yawn* sure pal, stick it on up there...

That's going to make me howl with laughter all day.

*grins* Well he was a person transformed into a sentient dragon, but he didn't really remember being a person. And you know...it went over really well too. Wonder how SGA fandom would react since in the most of the "gets turned into an animal" fics, a) the person remembers who they are and b) there's no sex while the person is in animal form.

But yeah, I'd have to say HP is probably the kinkiest fandom I've been around, because, as far as general RPF, up against the Valimar and Est type games, you have a LOT of really vanilla RPGS.

Okay, yeah you just convinced me HP fandom is kinkier than Torchwood fandom.
