Thank you! I tend to think of these boys as slightly more battered versions of the guys we see on SGA. Life's been harder for them and there's no Atlantis to give them a cause to rally for. But...they do have each other. Aaaaaaaaaw.

Well, all I can say as a military spouse (which is what Rodney effectively is, here) is, Yeah. This rang pretty true. I've spent the three years since my husband's last deployment finding out stuff he did, heard, saw while he was in Iraq... I'm still finding things out, and he's on his second (fucking) deployment.

When I used to work for the VA Hospital near here, as a transcriptionist, one of the things I did a lot of was typing up psych evals and what John is saying here - it brings those things back to me. Some of the Vietnam and Gulf War vets had stories that were enough to make me sit there and cry.

I like the fact that they're both bruised and neither is a competent expert to know what to do about. Rodney's discomfort is honest. Lovely job.
