Wrong. Downloading and sharing commercial music or video that you didn't pay for is much different than fan fiction.

The legality of pirating and bootlegging is not fuzzy. Just like making copies of Star Wars on DVD and selling them out of the trunk of your car is not anywhere near the same as being inspired by the movie and writing a new story about it. Again, if you post the new Harry Potter book, we've got a problem. But, if you write a story inspired by it, then it's a very different situation.

I think they are also a little out of touch with the Media and News as well. Napster doesn't share files anymore. They aren't free, every song that is downloaded now costs 99 cents each. I would know, my sister does it all the time.
