Awesome!

One typographical thing -- the paragraph that begins "what I think" shows up twice.

While I'm not an OTP person, it's very hard for me to read Lucius with people other than Severus (mainly, because I am Fucked Up), but this story really insists on working for me. The emotional weight of circumstance on the characters is obvious in a way that feels very genuine and doesn't wallow but also doesn't ignore it.

Major turning point for Lucius. I'm sitting here applauding -- that took a lot of courage and integrity. He's still not a nice guy, but he's trying to be... worthy? He has this intense sense of superiority and it's like he's trying to justify it. [ponder]

Yay! You made my weekend, between this and all the Alatriste yumminess!

As usual, loved. I'm enjoying Lucius' questioning of everything he's been told and taken for granted as being right, which is what we all have to do as we think for ourselves, and him to a much more drastic degree.

Loved Viggo jumping all over him. Loved Lucius realizing part of what does bother him is that Viggo's opinion of him does matter.

I loved this wording with the door closing firmly in the middle of the two sentences: (Viggo) And yet...he's not a nice person. He's not a likable man. He shuts the door firmly. And I need to remember that.

And underneath it all, they are just two men with sons who have things in common when it comes to feelings and worries about them.

Oh I am so happy to see another installment of this. And yes, Viggo does come off as a bit self-righteous at times, but Lucius' apology really works. I love seeing how, now that he is removed from his usual surroundings, he has to sort of rely on his own inner compass to navigate his thoughts and feelings.
