She was the last person he expected to see as he was sitting at his desk, painfully finishing up the paperwork for his last case. She'd seemed... pretty disappointed the last time they'd worked together. He wasn't sure what to think. Though the fact that she was making a beeline right towards him at least let him know that, yes, she was here for

Audrey hadn't wanted to be here, but she had no where else to turn. She needed to solve this case, and, though she hated it and didn't want to believe, Parkman had been able to do some pretty special things when they'd worked together last. And she needed help. Smith was slippery. He was an expert in covert operations.

She still didn't know why the CIA had brought this case to her. Why her, or why the Agency was so interested in the case. But it was her chance to show that she really did have what it took.

"Parkman," she said with a sharp nod, looking down at him.

"So, how can the NYPD help the FBI today?" He wasn't going to make this personal. He couldn't afford to. It had hurt too much when she'd stopped believing in him. She'd been his only ally for a long time.

She dropped a folder on the desk in front of him. "John Smith. Former colonel, Army Rangers, dishonorable discharge, sentenced by military courts to prison. Escaped, almost destroyed the Port of Los Angeles, escaped again. Now he's turned vigilante. Witnesses protect him. I can't find him." Her eyes were hard, but she shifted her weight uncertainly. "I need your help, Parkman."

A slight smile crossed his face. He couldn't help it. Her crawling back to him like this was a sweet, sweet victory. "My help, huh? Feds can't handle it on their own?" He knew what she was talking about, but... he felt the need to rub it in. So maybe he wasn't showing his best side.
