I'm really curious how it would all play out. We've heard such bellicose rhetoric from the whole slate of Republican candidates, I wonder what they'd actually do once they were in office and had the benefit of a team of military experts rather than political consultants telling them what to do and say.
For all the nonsensical rhetoric they've lobbed at Obama, he took a pretty hard swing to the right after he got into office, on foreign entanglements. We're far more involved around the globe than I'd expected, given his campaign. I suspect it was due to his advisors feeding him analyses. I think Trump would be the only one who might ignore his advisors, but I think instead he would prove too timid to push the button. Like, he's a chickenhawk - he has reality-TV sense and knows what people want to hear, but once faced with the reality of actually sending people to get killed, I think he's going to crumble under the enormity of that responsibility.
