Who on my friends list actually wants the whole lowdown on my surgery and recovery? I'm still in the process of writing what is turning into a fairly long entry, but I won't make it public unless you guys really want to know. I'm probably not likely to ever have one, so I can only learn vicariously from you.

I'm not proud, go for it.

I'm not on your friends list but I may be facing surgery myself for fibroids and I would like to know as much as I can - especially about the recovery period.

I'll try to get it up as soon as I can. For the record, I had it done laproscopically, which is far easier, or so I'm told. If your surgeon is good, and your fibroids are on the outside of your uterus, hopefully this will be an option. In any case, for the record, I had the surgery done 4/4/08 and am only now feeling up to returning to work. In my case, it was withdrawal from painkillers that caused the problem, not the surgery. And one of my incisions got infected. So, for you, if you can have it done the way I did it, you should be up for a desk job within a couple of weeks. Just don't lift any laundry baskets up the stairs like I did, :).
