Goldfish kept in a deep fryer

There are some goldfish in Japan that live in a functioning deep fat fryer. The frying oil floats above the water where the fish live and as long as they don't try jumping out of their layer, they're fine. A nice side effect of this arrangement is that the fish keep the fryer clean, eating whatever food scraps fall from the fryer above

I think you need to explain this or no one's going to watch it. Nobody wants to see a goldfish get fried.

Whoa, I'm also curious how they keep the water and ice cube from exploding in the hot oil. I better get back to learning Japanese again.

I haven't heard Japanese people talk in a while it seems...in the video they're much faster than I remember.

So the water is 162 degrees celcius?

I think the idea works, but how do you clean the water? Tis grossness.
