I'm trying to decide if I should be disturbed that I really really like some MCR songs.

I feel like I'm betraying my generation or something, but sometimes teenagers really do scare the livin' shit out of me.

LOL! No, I don't think that's likely.

My kid brought her iHome out to the living room while we had dinner since the cable is still AWOL. We just heard MCR, U2, Paramore and now "That Smell" by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

My kid has such good taste in music. :-)

Now, if only I could have gotten her into jazz, too. *sigh*

You shouldn't be disturbed because MCR is wonderful. And teenagers scare the shit out of me, too.

And bandslash doesn't have to hurt if it's full of crack and well written!

True story from last night's The Meeting from Hell.

A senior girl was one of the folks lined up to speak. When she got to the mic she started talking about her time at the school and related a lunch time story. One Monday or Tuesday, I think it was, she said this one particular kid stood in the middle of the courtyard and called for everyone's attention: "I'm going to do a backflip!"

All the kids were suddenly on their feet, some standing on benches, some on tables and all screaming for him to "STOP! Wait! Do it Friday!!!"

Why Friday? Because that's the one day a week they have a nurse on site. :-)

400 very scary teenagers.

But scary in a good way. :-)

awww!!--I read your previous post on the g/t school--that is awesome that they look out for each other... some of the kids in my school (even the ritzy private school) would have enjoyed seeing someone bust open their head and not have a nurse on duty--and then we wonder how the Romans could have possibly enjoyed watching lions rip apart religious martyrs?

I'm pretty musically sheltered--i don't listen to the radio and only download albums from the suggestions of others or my own previous preferences... I have no idea who MCR or Paramore is (though I have heard of U2 and Lynard Skynard)

I only know because of my kid. :-)

My Chemical Romance (MCR) has some very good stuff. You can find videos on Youtube and while I don't care about vids, the music is still there. Paramore has some very good stuff, too. Plus, they're great live. I thoroughly enjoyed the concert I went to with the kid and one of her friends (and friend's mother - we stood there grinning at our daughters who turned away so they didn't have to watch the old people trying to dance ;-).
