We're making *pizza*!!! YAY!!! It's Pillsbury crust, Ragu forms the basis of the sauce, but oh, man, it smells good. I'd gotten some cheese for several Alfredo meals, so we used some grated Asiago, grated Romano and some flaked Parmasean along with the mozzarella. I cooked up a link of hot Italian sausage for my half and the kid got to place her

I'm extremely jealous of your delicious pizza. It sounds way better than my food (is eating at 3.45pm lunch or dinner?).

It's "linner", like that meal between breakfast and lunch is "brunch". :-)

Well, one of the things I've always wondered about is why when a shape shifter changes shape, they retain their same gender. Thinking about having the ability to shift gender in the "other" shape (human, for example) also led me to wonder why they only have the two shapes they can shift between? Then I was off on a world building orgy. ;-) Which generally tells me I've got a far too deep science fiction background to not use it from time to time. ;-) Also, my shifters are a species of their own, even though they live undercover in human society.

Does the brunch/linner reasoning hold true if you didn't eat lunch? (Clearly I'm in dire need of procrastination tools instead of writing this soul-sucking take home exam).

Interesting...hmm. I want to read this story (like, now), so it's really unfortunate that you're not done yet! I also really, really want to see what this species is like! The genderbending!shifter theme sounds really cool! I <3 science fiction.

I confess to having almost as much fun building the world as I am writing the story. :-)

And see? Brennan could use something like this in the series and it would make *more* sense than trying to turn it into a romance. :-)

Not to say there won't be some smut in this one, just nothing CBS would be willing to show. ;-)

Yeah, one of the things that amazed me so much as I was first thinking about this is just how well it fits the characters as given. I was watching some episode or other this week and it really *was* them. ;-)
