Still around yo!

I know I haven't updated in the longest, but I've been busy doing my November spring cleaning in the barn. That means changing bedding in all the stalls(which I bed down with one foot of pine sawdust, and that takes a while to strip down), bringing in bedding for the next year(8+ tonnes of bedding = many many MANY wheelbarrow loads, a joy that ( Read more... )

A SonnyBoy update! YAY! LOL @ him finally leaving his stuffed hen behind. But I had to hide my eyes at the spider talk. I have an irrational fear of spiders. I don't mean the girlie "Oh, eeek, it's a spider" reaction. But blinding terror, climb on the table and call 911 for someone to come kill it fear. Heh.

I've been thinking of doing a Christmas music post but I don't think I have any of your requested songs. Sorry! :-/

Recently, my mom asked me to find her a version of Winter Wonderland that had just the right beat for her dancers(she teaches clogging. For those who wonder, that's sort of folk type tap dancing.

I was a clogger too. Not many people know what it is :)

My mom's been teaching it for near 15 years. She just plain loves it. :)

Hey -- it's so good to hear from you! And I've really been missing the Sonny Boy stories. The poor abandoned fake hen.

It sounds like you've been very busy. I can't imagine having to decorate a 9 foot Christmas tree. Of course, our family tradition is to bicker over who has to put on the tinsel, because forever if you do it "right" (i.e. only draping a few strands at a time).

Ack -- meant to say it takes forever if you do it right. I'm no firing on all cylinders myself these days.

OMG, eeps! I don't do the tinsels. For years I did do glow-in-the-dark iclcles(400 of them), but the little queen cat I've got now likes to climb the tree. You'll see the tree shaking, the branches waving, the ornaments jingling, and then her head will pop up about a foot from the top. Ergo more icicles on the ground than on the tree. So I gave the icicles to my mom. I do miss the glow in the dark effect. The first year I had them, the power went out in a wind storm. It was feed time, and I remember hoping I wouldn't blunder into the tree when I got there. When I got to the main part of the barn, I just stood there stunned. There was my tree, sofly glowing in the dark. ^_^ I remember standing there for minutes, mezmerized, until the horses started demanding their supper. You see, it had never occured to me to shut off ALL the lights in the barn, so I'd never see the real effect of the icicles before. Way neat ( ... )
