Summary: There's been a lot of running to do following the Last Great Time War, and yet, the Doctor finds himself compelled to stay on the dying world of Sylvarant, in desperate need of a Professor and a Doctor. One shot, unless I feel like writing more.
Characters: Raine Sage (ToS) and the Ninth Doctor. Sliiiiight shippiness if you squint really hard.
Setting: Takes place both during Raine et al's return to the Balacruf Mausoleum so Sheena can form a pact with Sylph, assuming the player puts it off until after first visiting Tethe'alla, and following the Last Great Time War, the Doctor's regeneration into his ninth form, and before the Doctor met Rose Tyler.
For the sake of being able to deliver this story to both respective sections at FF.net, I've had to post the same document twice, with one boasting a wordcount padded by nonsense and Ellis quotes from Left 4 Dead 2. These alternate versions are called Long Life and Distant History (the Doctor Who version) and Strange Man in a Blue Box (Tales of Symphonia version). Other than the padded wordcount in the latter, both stories are identical.

At first, I was a little intimidated trying to capture these two characters; both have a distinct way of speaking, but I feel like I caught both of them pretty well. :)
