NINETY-SIX

By the way? I love the irony. Going by water, really.

First order of business being accommodations: Someone's going to help me find a big bed. Ishiah? I completely understand if you feel the need to encumber someone else with this effort of paramount import; I can only imagine this journey is going to be painfully strenuous for everyone involved, ( Read more... )

And what irony would that be?

Oh, with some people, one would expect always to go by air.

Rich people, you mean. Some tan with too much on their mitts and no sense of humor?

Exactly. Sometimes it almost seems as if they expect Zeus God himself to pick them up and drop them wherever they were planning to go. Or one of the angels, at least.

What would you have me do, commandeer you a zeppelin? No other air carrier would be able to carry the weight of all your bags.

Thankfully the boy I last saw struggling with them knew where to go and how to leave before you realised. Worryingly, it appears to be the cabin next to mine. Whatever size companion you manage to burden with your affections I can assure you that the beds come no larger than standard in the first class berths.

Now, as to the other matters... where are you, exactly?

The thought is appreciated, though your complete and total lack of the effort necessary to even try has been noted. I tsk in your general direction.

Burden? I prefer to think of it as gracing, really. I can't get around to everyone, so a chosen few... I distinctly remember telling you this before, actually. Do I have to illustrate the finer points for you? Because I honestly hate repeating myself unless it's interesting, and you'll probably insist on keeping all your clothes.

On the boat, of course.

I'll try to feel chastened, somehow.

As to illustration, I have seen your rudimentary stick figures in compromising positions, thank you. You might like to trouble yourself with what people will do when they find them on the cave walls... I believe I have been enlightened enough for one lifetime.

Robin, this boat is called the Titani--

I'll start in the bar, then, shall I?

If they were found, they'd be put in a museum and be fawned upon as a work of art, of course. And then someone would be so pompous as to presume it were a work spawning from their race, as they can only be the ones to create fantastic works of awe-inspiring art. The Neanderthals.

Oh it's hardly as big as Oceanus, much less Hyperion or Iapetus.

...But, good choice.

Good, then, this endevour has some saving grace. Seeing as the alcohol is already mediocre at best, there may as well be something to make it worth my expensive and valuable time.

Mediocre? I don't think you're at the right bar then.

Well, there are several. But I do frequent a great deal of the things, you know, and predate most of said establishments; my standards are high, where they belong.

You are aboard the ship as well, sir?

I hope so, or I am in trouble.

It is true.

Still, this accommodations don't exactly meet my approval. This is second class quality where I come from.

The same. But I think I'll struggle onwards to bigger and better things, no?

Since when were you so cheerful about spending time with Ishiah?
