memories lost

so randomly just a few min ago my comp crashed and when it came back up my hard drive with all of my personal info, pictures, music, and "etc" were basically gone. The hard drive doesn't recognize anymore and it actually now crashes my system when trying to boot with it. A lot of memories now gone and a butt-ton of work in gathering so much music

Another!?!?! Dude that sucks... Sorry to hear that. Well, you could always get quite a bit of music over at our place of course but damn. How many hard drives is that btw? I'm wondering if its something else in your computer causing all of these hard drive failures..

Sometimes, even if the drive refuses to boot, you can still connect the drive to a working computer and retrieve the files. It may be that jsut the MBR is fucked, but the data integrity is secure.

Just throwin' that out there...

Austin had the same exact problem. I had the best luck powering on the computer, then plugging in the sata cable once windows loaded. then try running your data recovery tool.
