I have no clue what the hell he's been doing. If you don't count the travel to and from work for the both of us (110 a week when we lived with our mom and 250 a week at our new place), that's still 15.5k miles of WHO THE HELL KNOWS WHAT.
o.O 21,000 miles in six months? WTF?! Even if it's from the very beginning of October and thus is seven months, so 210 days, and even if we assume zero days in which driving was a problem because of crappy roads, that's still over 100 miles a day.
Comparatively, I have driven my car (and, I am the only adult in my house, so this includes driving my kids places and stuff) 3740 miles since last July. I know this because the oil needs changing and I should have done it over the winter but didn't (though, did add some), so. Oh, and 600 of those miles are three trips to Portland and back. Heh.
IT IS a ridiculous amount of driving. I just. Don't know. I figured out our mileage to and from work for the last 6 months, and that only accounts for less than a quarter of the mileage. I just can't figure it out.
That doesn't even make sense, that's practically a physical impossibility.
The only way I can think of that even being FEASIBLE is that your brother is taking impromptu joy rides to far away places and not bothering to tell you.
i still vote that he walks! if he lives un-shivved to the next paycheck, he'll be pretty willing to cough up part of it for an ancient used car. AND he'll be in better shape. ;D

What the hell has he been doing?
I wish I knew something about cars to make a suggestion.

I haven't put that much mileage on my van in over two years, but I don't drive anywhere.

As you can see, it took me 6 years of LOTS OF LONG ROAD TRIPS to put 50k on my truck. I just. DON'T EVEN KNOW.
