You lucky ducky! Was that the eBay auction promoted on GMM? I am so envious of you!
How were these icons inspired by Futurama? I'll have to steal save them sometime when I'm not so tired.
ETA: You'll still want to buy Volume 10, but if you want to find out what happens, join saiyuki_manga, which has high quality scans from the magazine version along with a good translation off to the side. Because the scans and translation are essentially separate, it's not a scanlation, but the translation is a lot better than the usual scanlation. (Note: she was pressed for time with some of it, so a few chapters are sketchy. The sketches were cleaned up for publication.)
I know, they're awesome. Twice the size of most manga published in the US (in terms of page size), and some of the omake and extra panels in the back of them are ones I've never seen before. They're pretty funny too, though I can't tell exactly what is going on.
The ebay auction that was on GMM was for Murakami's Help doujinshi. I won that as my first ebay transaction ever and since I've been mildly addicted.
Only the first of those two was inspired by Futurama, but I have a couple of others (like my "your lyrics lack subtlety" one).
It is a paraphrased quote made by Bender to get support for Proposition Infinity (the whole episode was a satire of the Prop 8 debacle in California, substituting robosexual marriage for gay marriage, which is legal in the year 3000) 'course when he won and was finally able to have a legal, monogamous marriage he dumped Amy like a sack of rocks
( ... )
And OMG, Ironman and Captain America totally want to do each other in the butt. made me LOL! XDD You've been permanently corrupted~ And I totally know how you feel. D'oh! >_>
Just never mind the amazing disappearing/reappearing shirt in the second one. You know I prefer my hotties wearing nothing but a smile, but apparently Eiri kept deciding he was cold and putting it back on between frames.
You've been permanently corrupted~ Yeah, but I regret nothing.
