Ugh. (A Rant.)

I check out ff.net for some new stories the other day.

Sadly, there were either crappy yaoi fics, crappy [characterxOC] fics, and, for some reason, the script for the abridged series. That crosses the line from fan fiction to plagiarism, I think.

Is it too much to ask for original fan fiction? (Don't be a smart ass, I know by the fact that's it's ( Read more... )

fandom, you're doing it wrong, idiots, yaoi, yugioh, fanfiction, head-desk!

It scares me when people have given me reviews such as THIS IS THEE MOST AHMMAZING YAOIFANFIC EVERWRITTEN BY ANY HUMAN!" or something. Note: the link is actually something someone wrote. YEAH. O_O

Now don't get me wrong, I'm always extremely happy when I get wonderful reviews. I'm not at all complaining about that. I'm not a horrible writer by any means, I'd like to believe, but I think there's far more accomplished yaoi writers on the Pit than me. It makes me worry when almost every reviewer has to point out that I actually gave my story a plot and some emotions, that I actually tried to write it well, and that this is such a different thing from other yaoi stories. I mean, how many awful fics have they read if mine seems professional? Because, trust me, it's not awful, but I still have a lot of work to do before it's professional.
