And...I'm going to rant about the LJ changes...but only a little. These changes suck. I found out (thanks to an awesome user I don't actually know and thus can't remember the name of) that Dreamwidth is having a one week open period where you can sign up with no trial. I'll most likely me moving everything over there. I'll post an update with my DW

So during this open period at DW, do you still need to pay to join?

I totally agree about the annoying and unnecessary changes to LJ, though I think they have nothing on the annoying and unnecessary changes to youtube!

LJ is annoying but it's still one of the better places to find other geeky people who like writing and RPing...

No, you never have to pay to join DW. You get more features if you do (just like LJ).

I'm confused, I'm pretty sure I read on DW that you have to pay to join and an explanation on there as to why. And that sometimes people can join without paying if people who already have joined have codes they can give them.

They have three account options. There is a free account. Normally you need a code to get any sort of account at all, but this week you can join without a code. It has been said by several people that this no-code week is DW's response to LJ's crappiness!
