A family cat, no less than that with a coat as black as night.
A hunter so great, no rodent was safe, and he never lost a fight.
But in the house he was cool, so calm, and no fool; the ruler of the roost was he.
A gentlemen, a scholar, not a brute or a mauler; he filled my heart with glee.
